Tailstock Stationary Tool Holders

• Wood drilling applications, i.e., pool cues, woodwinds, etc. in the tailstock of wood or engine lathes.
• Metal drilling applications in CNC lathes with a powered tailstock

For wood drilling, tailstock tool holders offer a much stronger, more secure mounting of a gun drill than a "Jacobs" type drill chuck. The gun drill has a simple rear air driver for quick drill change as the tool holder connected to the air supply remains in the tailstock.

For metal drilling applications in CNC's with a powered tailstock, a longer gun drill can be fitted, plus it provides more clearance and indexing options than what's possible in the turret.

Toolholders have a 1/8" NPT side-air thread. For wood, air at 60-100 psi is recommended. For metal drilling in a CNC, our Spraymist System or high pressure coolant can be used. Each toolholder is supplied with a 1/8" x 1/4" NPT adapter, internal "O" ring, Allen wrench, and two spare "O" rings. Other NPT & BSP adapters are available. The internal "O" ring is placed at the bottom of the bore and the gun drill's driver is locked against it to make a tight seal.
